Check out our March Newsletter. Much has been happening and we would like to acknowledge some of the many people who have made progress so far possible.
PEP Founder in Car Accident!
Most of us know and love Niko. His life is incredibly hectic. He teaches around 1,000 students every week, runs a struggling church and heads the PEP Foundation. Last Sunday, the brakes failed on his old van and he hit a 21-year-old man on a motorbike. The 21 year old sustained minor injuries (including losing a tooth). Niko has to pay 3.5 million rupiah (Approximately 30,000 JPY or $350 AUD in total), which equates to approximately 4 months salary for him. If you would like to help him personally, please donate through the PEP account and earmark it for Niko. Let’s show how much we appreciate him!

Books donated to the ROLE Foundation
At Bali’s Big Eco Weekend, we met Sheryl, a volunteer English teacher at ROLE Foundation. Sheryl mentioned that they have very limited teaching resources so we helped by donating 10 sets of new textbooks. Best wishes to everyone at ROLE.
Bali’s Big Eco Weekend
On July 2-3, the PEP Foundation joined other NGO’s at Kuta Beach to raise awareness of environmental issues in Bali. Governor Pastika opened the two day event which included a beach clean up, releasing baby turtles into the sea and live music performances. It was a good opportunity for PEP to network with the Japan Club, ROLE Foundation and government leaders.
Overseas volunteers helping us out
Heather Gorman spent July volunteering for the PEP Foundation. With her background in project management and hospitality, Heather was able to focus our attention on concept design and preparations for the training center. We wish Heather all the best as she continues her travels and thank her for her efforts.
